Post-doc in Mobility Information Engineering

The Institute of Cartography and Geoinformation is looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral candidate in the area of Mobility Information Engineering at the Chair of Geoinformation Engineering (www.gis.ethz.ch), starting at the earliest possible date.
The main objective of this Post-doc position is the development, implementation and testing of innovative computational methods for the analysis, simulation and forecasting of human mobility based on spatio-temporal data. The Post-doc will be leading the Mobility Information Engineering Lab (http://mie-lab.ethz.ch/), engage in multi-disciplinary research within the context of the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research – Efficient Technologies and Systems for Mobility (SCCER Mobility) and related projects, and contribute to the teaching activities at the Chair of Geoinformation Engineering. The Post-doc position will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Raubal (Chair of Geoinformation Engineering).
The ideal candidate must have a doctoral degree in Geomatics, Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science or related fields, as well as a strong research interest in sustainable mobility. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, as well as knowledge of methods in spatial analysis and machine learning, and strong programming skills (e.g., Java, Python or C++) are required. Knowledge of GIS and spatial databases is a plus. The candidate must have excellent communication skills in English (oral and writing), be team-oriented and willing to work in an international environment.
